MULTICAST-A MULTIdisCiplinary Approach to prediction and treatment of SuicidaliTy

Eyal Dolev presented his research project at IPrA

Eyal Dolev, a PhD candidate in Linguistics, attended the 18th International Pragmatics Conference (IPrA) held in Brussels from 9 to 14 July 2023, along with over 1000 international participants. The IPrA conference, attended by researchers from all over the world, promotes knowledge exchange on pragmatics, i.e., the science of language use, in an interdisciplinary setting.

Eyal Dolev presented his research project on speech production as a predictor of suicidality. In his poster entitled "Predicting Suicidality: The Role of Information Structure" he offered insights into the syntactical characteristics of speech produced by persons with suicidal behavior and ideation. He drew upon preliminary findings to show that individuals with suicidal thoughts and depression use less information structural means.
